Free-falling Impactor

A certain weight of the ram falls freely, hitting the striker instantly (the striker contacts the brain), so as to damage the brain tissue.

Location of the impact brain area: the injury device is installed in the X / Z arm of the brain stereotaxic instrument, and moved to the impact brain area, and then the depth of the injury through the X / Y / Z three-dimensional arm of the stereotaxic instrument.

 Features 

Special transparent materials allow to observing the movement of the ram real time.

The scales are marked in the surface of the device, and the impact height shall be positioned accurately to 1mm.

The exhaust holes on both sides of the device to reduce the air resistance during the falling of the ram and accordingly reduce the experimental error.

Ram weight: complete with 20g, 40g, 60g, 80g and 100g.

Striker size (damage area): 3mm and 5mm size for brain injury, and 1.2mm and 2.5mm sizes for spinal cord, both are available.

Impact height: 0-300mm adjustable, accuracy 1mm.
