BSCI300 Precision Impactor

 <<Introduce>> 

The BSCI300 Precision impactor is designed to induce traumatic brain injury (TBI) through controlled cortical impact modeling in small and medium sized animals such as mouse, rat, cat, rabbits etc.

The advanced equipment uses pneumatic electric control to accurately regulate the strike speed, depth, dwell time and force by the tip, and allows researchers to achieve precise strikes with excellent accuracy and repeatability. The control method adopts touch screen control without software to install. It can be turned on with one click and operated step by step. The zero calibration method adopts a sensor contact mechanism to automatically detect and identify the zero interface, which is sensitive and efficient, and then reducing the error of judgment.

Stereotaxic Impactor by HUAYON also allows for customization of the tip size, geometry, and position to accommodate different species. Together, these features enable researchers to address multiple histopathological and functional questions related to brain injury, making it an indispensable tool in neurotrauma research.

 <<Main Features>> 

Hardware:

(1) Using a cylinder to control the striking speed, a servo motor to control the striking depth, an electromagnetic valve to control the cylinder start, and an electronic control valve to control the intake air volume, and thus achieve precise striking by changing the cylinder speed.

(2) 4.3-inch touch screen control, IPS full wide-angle screen, friendly, concise, and beautiful UI operation interface, step-by-step operation, and multiple confirmation methods during the operation process to reduce misoperation.

(3) Using capacitive touch method for contact zeroing to reduce errors.

(4) Strike speed calibration, output the set strike speed and actual strike speed at the end of the test.

(5) The brain and spinal cord fixation devices of different animals can be flexibly switched, and the horizontal X-Y axis position adjustment operation is flexible; Head adaptor with whole brain fine-tuning function in the direction of front and back, left and right. Brain and spinal cord adaptors plus anesthesia masks can be optionally installed in conjunction with gas anesthesia machines.

Software:

(1) Equipped with startup zero face, speed calibration function, and startup operation prompts.

(2) Experimental parameter settings with memory function, automatically retaining the last set striking parameters.

(3) The striking mode has two modes: speed (SPEED) and pressure (PRESSURE). The speed striking mode is used to strike by setting the movement speed of the cylinder (including the telescopic rod), while the air pressure striking mode is used to strike by setting the air pressure required when the telescopic rod of the cylinder extends.

(4) The speed setting range is 0.5-5.6m/s, with an accuracy of ± 0.1m/s (when the speed is below 3m/s); The pressure setting range is 0.03-0.35Mpa, with an accuracy of ± 0.01Mpa.

(5) The range of strike depth setting is 0-5mm, with an accuracy of ±1 μm.

(6) The range of dwell time setting is 0-5s, with an accuracy of ±0.01s.

(7) Zero face calibration function: When the striking head comes into contact with the experimental object, the buzzer prompts whether it is in contact.

(8) There are two ways to adjust the position of the striking rod (i.e. setting the striking depth), quick adjustment: the striking rod can be controlled to move quickly, step adjustment: the striking rod can be controlled to move up and down by 10 microns per step.

(4) At the end of the experiment, the experimental data will be displayed: comparison between the set values and actual values of impact speed/pressure, impact depth, and dwell time.

(5) Experimental log: You can view the replay of nearly 50 experimental data, including parameters such as impact speed/pressure, impact depth, dwell time, and experimental time.
